About the Position: This position is with the Joint Munitions Command located at Pine Bluff Arsenal in Pine Bluff Arkansas. This position serves as Safety and Occupational Health Specialist, involved in the design and management of safety and occupational health programs involving hazardous materials.

Duties

Apply laws and regulations, policies and/or procedures related to safety and occupational health. Evaluate the safety of the handling, storage, and/or disposal of explosives and hazardous materials. Conduct analysis, write programs, assess lockout/tag out procedures and extend accepted safety principles in order to develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive safety and occupational health program. Performs inspections and surveys of assigned aspects of the facilities, equipment, and operations for which the installation has responsibility, to ensure compliance with safety and occupational health regulations and requirements.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Pre-employment and random drug testing is required.
  • Employee must obtain CP-12 certification within 24 months of employment.
  • Physical requirements: employee must be able to stand/walk in excess of 75% of the time, potentially in all weather conditions.
  • Employee must be able to properly wear PPE as needed to support industrial operations. Examples include respirators, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, etc.
