You will serve as a RESEARCH PSYCHOLOGIST in the HEALTH AND BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE DIVISION of NAVHLTHRSCHCEN SDIEGO.
Duties
You will conduct research and provides expert consultation for research studies related to the psychological impact of military occupational stress on active duty military personnel and their families.
You will identify research problems, develop testable hypotheses, identify or create pertinent measurement methods, conduct statistical analyses, and interpret and summarize study results.
You will review scientific literature related to the area of behavior and its effects on health, evaluate experimental findings, and compare and contrasts them to findings of previous studies.
You will serve as a technical expert and exercise a high degree of scientific leadership over a work force of research psychologists, clinical psychologists, nurse researchers, statisticians, epidemiologists, and computer scientists.
You will maintain an updated research program by using collaboration, briefings and presentations, technical reports, and peer reviewed articles.
You will write reports of study results for publication as technical reports or scientific journal articles.
You will make presentations at professional meetings and conferences
Requirements

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience conducting literature reviews to design and execute research studies on factors related to behavioral and psychological health
Experience designing and executing research studies that examine risk and resilience factors for adverse mental and behavioral health outcomes
Experience translating empirical research findings into products or interventions to promote positive health outcomes
Experience pursuing funding of research programs
Experience writing and publishing scientific reports summarizing research findings

Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must have successfully completed a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's or higher degree with a major or equivalent in psychology for a specialization other than clinical or counseling psychology.
