You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Technical Security Branch, Security Office, of the Executive Support Staff, Code 1100, of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will serve as a technical expert in the Security Operations Center (SOC) for electronic security systems installation, maintenance, and administration. You will monitor system status, identify problems, and initiate and assist with corrective actions. You will provide planning and coordination, program administration and training, as well as, liaison with agencies and businesses supporting SOC operations. You will support the SOC manager in the administration of the Automated Access Control System (AACS) program for DoD and non-DoD personnel. You will coordinate with command IT departments and facilities maintenance organizations for system updates, outages, and troubleshooting.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and interpreting procedures and practices for the installation, maintenance and administration of electronic security systems, including Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems, to assist in resolving complex problems or issues. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR

OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
