In this position you will work as a member of the Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center (MWEOC), Logistics Division, Warehouse Operations Section. The MWEOC facility is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, approximately 60 miles west of Washington, DC. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience with warehouse operations that include utilizing automated supply systems and broad knowledge of warehouse and storage plans.
Duties
All MWEOC staff have emergency assignments and are considered deployed in place. Exercises and activations are planned and unplanned, and may require long hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
Qualifications

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standard. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
Working Conditions: Work is done inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lit. Regular exposure to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls, and injury from falling stock or mechanized work areas. When working in hazardous materials areas, may be subject to exposure from toxins, explosive hazards, or chemical fumes.
Work may require protective clothing such as hardhats, steel-toed shoes, rubber gloves, and masks.
Physical Effort: Often stands on hard surfaces for extended periods of time, and bends, stoops, and works in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries weight more than 70lbs. Movement of items heavier than 70lbs. will be done using the Materials Handling equipment available or assistance from other employees. The use and knowledge of Materials Handling equipment is essential.
