You will serve as a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will determine sources of supply by performing extensive searches of mandatory sources You will requisition and makes purchases of supplies, material, equipment and services in compliance to all applicable supply/service acquisition procedures, policies and regulations. You will conduct daily checks with customers and Central Receiving personnel to verify that material and services were received and accepted. You will maintain suspense files on requisitions submitted until all actions are complete. You will review requests for compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviewing Material Request forms (MRFs) and Purchase Requests (PRs) for accuracy; 2) Conducting market research to determine the best sources to procure from to meet customers' requirements; 3) Tracking and maintaining up-to-date knowledge on the status of requisitions and purchases; 4) Resolving discrepancies with service and material orders which includes replacement, exchange, or returns; and 5) Documenting all purchases made with the Government Purchase Card in accordance with current regulations and instructions. **NOTE** This information must be clearly supported in your resume.
