About the Position: Serve as Supervisory Plans Officer for the HQS, First Army, G-5 Plans Branch.
Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position. Duties
Serve as the Deputy Chief, Army Force Generation Plans Branch, G-3 Plans Division.
Analyze assigned missions, external factors of influence, and workload levels to determine their impacts on current and future mission planning.
Organize, coordinate, and direct staff personnel and activities in preparing operational plans that support First Army's mission and operations.
Provide direct supervision to employees to ensure plans, programs, and policies are consistent with organizational goals.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) of 25% or more.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1. Plan work estimating costs to conduct all phases of a project by coordinating with staff and line management personnel; 2. Prepare plans for operations and contingencies operations to accomplish the mission; 3. Provide information for different operational and mobilization plans in conjunction with leadership; 4. Participate in coordination of assigned projects in preparing operational plans to accomplish the mission; and 5. Assist in synchronizing the mobilization and training of units deploying in support of Contingency Operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
