About the position: This position will be assigned to the Community Center on Duke Field, Air Reserve Station, Florida.
The primary purpose of this position is to assists in program operation and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
The position is a regular part-time position, which means you are eligible for benefits and guaranteed to work at least 20 hours per week. Position requires working irregular schedules, to include weekends, holidays, and all shifts.
Duties
The primary purpose of this position is to assists in program operation and maintenance of equipment and facilities. Special emphasis is on programs for families and family members and special groups such as retirees, singles, and private organizations.
Types of duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Carries out recurring group activities such as classes, clubs, special events, outreach, competitive games and events, and self-directed leisure. Recommends new programming activities, to include type of format and resources the activity would require.
Gathers information from a number of different sources, including past programs and current popular programs in other communities.
Assists in promoting marketing strategies.
Collects fees and protects funds. Receives payment for events and accurately annotates receipt in POS system.
Greets facility users and conducts facility tours.
Reports facility repairs and maintenance requirements according to procedures.
Assists in maintaining facility to meet operational standards.
Establishes policies for equipment procurement and accountability.
Responsible for a comprehensive Outdoor Recreation.
Publicizes and promotes activities.
Arranges for supplies, services, equipment, and facilities needed to accomplish scheduled activities.
Tracks and analyzes expenditures and assures accounting of all funds and assets.
Evaluates effectiveness of on-going outdoor recreational activities from the standpoint of participants, resources, unforeseen developments and program objectives.
Recommends new programming activities, to include type of format and resources the activity would require.
Prepares and forwards periodic narrative and statistical reports concerning the success of programs.
Directs activities and provides guidance to fellow staff members and on occasion volunteer workers.
Serves customers that visit or telephone the ticket and travel operation.
Sells tickets to local and area attractions as well as nationwide attractions by tickets on hand, searching Air Force Central Ticketing, Internet, other Base contacts, by phone, fax, or any other means necessary.
Submits ticket orders and ensures they are received and delivered to the customer in a timely manner.
Secures and accounts for all tickets and monies. Accepts payments, receives checks, and controls receipt of resale items.
Posts expenditures daily sales, refunds and profits to reports. Prepares necessary daily reports.
Assists in planning and initiating publicity campaigns.
May operate limited service bars on UTA weekend once a month which may include: Preparing a limited variety of alcoholic drinks by selecting proper premix and garnish, serving beer, soda and wine, serving patrons directly; May receive payment, operates cash register, and make and return change to patrons; May set up bar for operation and obtains cash bank; Maintains work area neat and clean; Washes bar equipment, glassware, and utensils; Stocks service bars.
May be required to prepare documentation for cash funds accountability.
Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience which has demonstrated the ability to manage business activities.
May have been gained in an operating, administrative, or managerial position which included responsibility for various phases of operations, such as equipment and supply accountability, financial management, or planning organizational or club activities.
Must have experience which demonstrated the ability to independently carry out continuing projects or programs through application of the principles, concepts and techniques of the specific needs of the projects or programs at hand.
Must have experience which has demonstrated skills in managing financial and physical resources, including budgeting for the specific needs of individual programs. Familiarity with cash handling practices and sales operations.
Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft programs especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must have knowledge of computer systems.
Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Must possess skill in dealing with the public.
Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier one background investigation.
NOT REQUIRED BUT HIGHLY DESIRABLE:
Program management, event planning, and bartending experience.
A working knowledge of price analysis techniques and/or negotiation techniques.
Knowledge of accounting and financial planning principles and procedures and a good working knowledge of FSS programs, practices, and procedures.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
