Duties
Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the 81st TRSS Equipment and Systems Maintenance Flight.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Directs, coordinates, and oversees work through subordinate supervisors.
Represents the 81st Training Support Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Ensures locally developed, AR/VR, Network, RADAR, Airfield & Weather Systems, (RAWS) and Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment, (TMDE) items are properly sustained to minimize training mission deficiencies and to provide PMEL support for local and regional weapon systems missions/units.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions for Equipment Services Series, 1670.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes working as a skilled mechanic or maintenance worker, sales or service engineer, or planner or estimator in a technical group dealing with manufacture, utilization, repair, or operation of equipment. Reviewing and applying technical specifications and requirements. Analyzing equipment and forecasting spare parts requirements. Reading and interpreting engineering change orders, equipment requisitions, shop orders, and work orders. Analyzing contract specifications and examining pertinent equipment to determine if specifications are met. Analyzing or supervising maintenance, repair, or production operations to determine methods of improvement. Knowledge of personnel management policies, practices, regulations, and procedures to adjust work operations to meet emergencies; change program or production, safety, and security requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifice of quality or quantity of work; and establish program objectives or performance goals and assess progress toward their achievement whether personnel, equipment or contractor related. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of personnel management policies, practices, regulations, and procedures to adjust work operations to meet emergencies; change program or production, safety, and security requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifice of quality or quantity of work; and establish program objectives or performance goals and assess progress toward their achievement whether personnel, equipment or contractor related.
2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors.
4. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
5. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
6. Skill in analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, and technical data; identifying and analyzing complex technical problems, and developing innovative solutions to problems.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
