Duties
Identify requirements to facilitate medical capability development in support of the medical mission.
Conducts capability-based or cost-based analysis considering all acquisition program elements, such as human factors engineering, new
equipment training, sustainment costs.
Serves as the chief of Medical Strategic Requirements Branch and the senior lead for Medical Material Research, Development and Acquisition
(RD and A).
Assign work based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Top-Secret security clearance required.
- May be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- TDY may be required up to15%.
- May be required to serve a one-year Supervisory probationary period.
- Drug Testing position.

Basic Education Requirement: Bachelor's or graduate (or higher level) degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. My degree is from an educational program accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized experience: One year specialized experience: 1.) Identify requirements to facilitate medical capability development in support of the ARSOF medical mission; analyze requirements. 2.) Develop supportive plans, policies, and programs, and develop or exploit and adapt medical capability, technology, and material development. 3.) Serves as the chief of Medical Strategic Requirements Branch and the senior lead for Medical Material Research, Development and Acquisition (RD&A) for the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC). 4.) Provide direction,
guidance, oversight, and advice for the planning and forecasting requirements and resources to develop and obtain medical capability appropriate to supporting Army Special Operations Forces (ARSOF). 5.) Provides continuity throughout the directorate for any ongoing projects and missions.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
