As Product Support Specialist for the Logistics Management Division, you will be responsible for supporting Astrophysics program Division in Logistics and Life Cycle planning support, including but not limited to strategic planning, policy analysis, integration, and task management. You will develop/use an understanding of LMD's strategy, operations, to achieve integrated coordination between the Division and the Astrophysics customer.
Duties
Provides logistics support for Astrophysics missions across the Agency including design and parts availability analysis.
Manages optical assets and parts across NASA’s Centers, to include oversight and management of contract repair parts for compliance.
Conduct cost analyses to validate product support strategy, including cost-benefit analyses as needed to meet mission program affordability goals.
Use predictive analysis and modeling tools to improve material availability and reliability, increase operational availability rates, and reduce operation and sustainment costs.
Write lifecycle plans for projects and advise on optimized inventory of parts. Manage asset accountability from acquisition to grave; prepare disposition plans for retiring assets and evaluate resources needed to retire assets.
Determine parts sparing plans and materials support needed for active astrophysics programs.
Maintain maintenance reporting and evaluation of mission readiness for project.
Coordinate between the Logistics Management Division (LMD) and Astrophysics Division formulation of budget for project.
Track funding for project support between Center and HQ Astrophysics office.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-11, you must have:
a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level:
Coordinating with Customer on material and supply readiness to support product delivery;
Developing logistics support plan to track product availability of materials and maintenance requirements;
Assisting with the development of plans to integrate logistical support of operations in the areas of supply, service, maintenance, transportation, and/or property accountability.
OR
b) Completed all requirements for a doctoral degree (i.e., Ph.D. or equivalent) in an appropriate field
OR
c) Completed 3 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree in an appropriate field
OR
d) LL.M., if related
OR
e) Have an equivalent combination of experience and graduate study as discussed in a), b), c) and d) above
