Qualifications
NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for the GS-06 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-05 level defined as reviewing correspondence for accuracy; and preparing written reports, briefings, and/or presentations.
To qualify for the GS-07 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-06 level defined as maintaining an office calendar and scheduling meetings; assisting with records and/or file management; and preparing written reports, briefings, and/or presentations.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of administrative concepts, principles, and practices of a large organization to manage and oversee a wide variety of support functions such as controlled correspondence, timekeeping, travel management, and response to public inquiries.
Ability to communicate in writing sufficient to edit studies, reports, and prepare correspondence.
Skill in providing leadership to organization staff on procedures and practices for supporting the organization.
Ability to work collaboratively with organization administrative staff to elicit cooperation and encourage teamwork and backup support.
Ability to advise on web-based travel and timekeeping systems, and use a wide variety of software applications including Word, Excel, Power point, and electronic mail.
Ability to communicate orally sufficient to support organization managers and employees, provide briefings on a wide variety of administrative topics, and communicate effectively with a large number of EPA stakeholders.
In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements described above, you must possess the following skill: 40 words per minute typing speed.
