This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation for Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range & Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This position serves as a Storage Specialist, ensuring proper and safe storage of munitions.
Duties
Study storage plans to determine compliance with established methods.
Plan storage consolidation of like items for efficient use of space.
Verify ammunition items are stored in accordance with safety regulations/policies.
Confirm storage facilities do not exceed assigned explosives limits.
Utilize automated systems to track storage locations.
Use conventional practices of storage operations to select appropriate sites of storing items.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Must possess and maintain installation driving privileges. Installation driving privileges are automatically granted unless suspended or revoked.
- Position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968, which makes it a felony for those convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence to ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms or ammunition.
- Temporary duty (TDY) business travel is required less than 25% of the time.
- Required to satisfactorily complete certification/recertification for this position as outlined in AMC Regulation 350-4, Training and Certification Program for Personnel Working in Ammunition Operations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. General Experience: Three years progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least the NH-01 grade level, which includes using automated systems to maintain and track storage and storage location for incoming/outgoing items; and studying storage plans to determine compliance with established policies and regulations. This definition of general experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-01).

Education: Four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 36. Then divide your total number of completed undergraduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 120. Add the two percentages.
