You will serve as a PIPEFITTER LEADER in the Pipe Shop (960), Production Resources Department Manager (901), Production Resources Department (900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will communicate performance standards and provide performance evaluations with feedback to journeyman mechanics. You will plan the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials and tools for assigned units of work. You will provide technical direction and general knowledge of work techniques, methods and equipment to workers and journeymen. You will perform regular job site leadership and monitor conformance to procedures, practices and performance goals. You will maintain accurate record of time expended and progress on assigned tasks.

• You will be required to lift/carry up to 45 pounds in weight.
• You will be required to climb ladders and scaffolding.
• You will be required to distinguish between colors and shades of colors.

I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence: Utilizing shop mathematics to lay out angles, arcs, and circles to perform duties: Completing the installation, modification, repair and maintenance of various piping systems and equipment.
