About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Theater Clearnce Manager for the Operations Directorate-Future Operations Division in Miami, FL.
Duties
Serve as the approving authority for all theater clearance requests for DoD personnel travel into the USSOUTHCOM AOR (Area of Responsibility).
Review the DoD Foreign Clearance Guide and update as needed.
Serves as the USSOUTHCOM lead for the Aircraft and Personnel Automated Clearance System (APACS) for USSOUTHCOM.
Responsible for administering APACS accounts, ensuring that account requestors are issued ID and passwords, and individually tailor system permissions dependent on type of account required.
Facilitate both rotational and emergent deployment sections with Global Force Management (GFM) requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a top-secret security clearance.
- This is a mandatory drug testing position.
- The work requires occasional travel up to 15% by commercial carrier.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) experience in the process of strategically requesting and distributing resources across different projects and activities; 2) experience using a structured approach to evaluate different allocation options and make informed decisions based on criteria like return on investment, risk, and potential impact to senior leadership 3) experience in in data analysis and able to quickly adapt to new technology and 4) experience with software such as Microsoft Office Suite.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above).
