Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas:
CAS-Customer Account Services, CTCP-Customer Technical Communications Program
The following are the duties of this position at the full working level:
Independently, or as a team member, researches and revises existing material for use by the selected function(s).
Researches subject matter laws, agency policies, program procedures, and other source documents to draft materials suitable for the intended audiences.
Edits material presented by technical analysts and subject matter specialists. Edits materials to ensure grammatical correctness, appropriate tone, consistency in style and format, and conformance with Service polices and practices. Accepts or rejects material considering the suitability of expression and effects for the purpose intended.
Creates, evaluates, and/or rewrites documents to improve written presentation in terms of logical development of ideas and concepts, the reading and knowledge level of the intended audience, the method of expression, and the overall quality of writing.
Attends planning meetings and provides information to others on procedures and format. Consults with analysts to plan and advise on content, format, and Service policy before final publication.
Qualifications
Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09 LEVEL: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position includes:
Experience presenting technical information in writing through independent reading, interviews and analysis.
Experience with tax law and related programs, policies, and publications.
Experience with the rules and regulations pertaining to government publications.
Experience with Accounts phones and adjustments, Taxpayer Relations, Identity Theft Victims Assistance (IDTVA).
OR
EDUCATION:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree in a field of study that included a total of 15 semester hours in an appropriate scientific, technical, or social science field(s), and at least one course above the introductory level in the field(s) covered by the position, i.e. tax law. OR
Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a graduate degree that included a total of 15 semester hours in an appropriate scientific, technical, or social science field (s), and at least one course above the introductory level in the field (s) covered by the position, i.e. tax law. One year of graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended.
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. At least one year of combined graduate education and experience as defined in paragraphs above.
AND
MEET TIME IN GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT: You must meet applicable TIG requirements to be considered eligible. To meet TIG for positions above the GS-05 grade level, you must have served at least one year (52 weeks) at the next lower grade (or equivalent) in the normal line of progression for the position you are applying to. Advancement to positions up to GS-05 is permitted if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade held within the preceding 52 weeks.
AND
TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: By the closing date (or if this is an open continuous announcement, by the cut-off date) specified in this job announcement, current civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since their latest non-temporary appointment from a competitive referral certificate, known as time after competitive appointment. For this requirement, a competitive appointment is one where you applied to and were appointed from an announcement open to "All US Citizens".

Education
A copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience.
