You will serve as a Air Traffic Control Specialist in the Air Warfare Division of IMMEDIATE OFC OF CHIEF OF NVL OPS.
Duties
You will serve as an advisor regarding the general field of Air Traffic Control (ATC) operations, Airspace Management (AM) , Navy Airspace Command and Control (A2C2) with a worldwide scope and Navy policy on Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
You will develop Navy Standards utilizing air traffic analysis data and various operations reports to facilitate handling of heavy increases in traffic, correct deficiencies and to improve controller efficiency.
You will evaluate the effect of increased Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) usage of the Navy’s growth plan to identify any airspace shortfalls to recommend mitigation strategies.
You will review Navy, commercial and general aviation proposals, determine the effect of such proposals, and coordinate with Navy elements to develop a Navy position.
Requirements

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Air traffic control specialists must possess the facility ratings required at the facility where the position is located. You will be required to maintain a valid Air Traffic Control Specialist and/or Control Tower Operator Certificate.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Serve as an advisor regarding the general field of Air Traffic Control (ATC) operations, Airspace Management (AM) , Navy Airspace Command and Control (A2C2) with a worldwide scope and Navy policy on Unmanned Aircraft Systems; 2) Develop Navy Standards utilizing air traffic analysis data and various operations reports to facilitate handling of heavy increases in traffic, correct deficiencies and to improve controller efficiency.; 3) Evaluate the effect of increased Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) usage of the Navy's growth plan to identify any airspace shortfalls to recommend mitigation strategies; AND 4) Review Navy, commercial and general aviation proposals, determine the effect of such proposals, and coordinate with Navy elements to develop a Navy position.
