This a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Position.
This National Guard position is a Temporary vacancy NTE one year GS-0080-09 SECURITY SPECIALIST (TRAINING SPECIALIST) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2161000 and is part of the MO 139th Airlift Wing. This is a non-bargaining position.

Duties
Reviews operations, mobility, contingency, and exercise plans to ensure combat readiness for the Security Forces function.
Analyzes exercise and contingency plans to determine required Security Forces actions in support of mission requirements.
Evaluates equipment, manning and training requirements to meet wartime, contingency, deployment, and pre-planned tasking.
Manages the development of plans for deployment, disaster preparedness, base recovery, contingency response, and other related plans.
Prepares, updates, and reviews the Security Forces portion of the base deployment, disaster preparedness, base recovery, contingency response, and related plans.
Initiates changes, modifications, additions and deletions to personnel and equipment tasking and assignments through the Security Forces function for approval.
Identifies deficiencies develops, and implements plans for increasing mission readiness.
Compiles information by identifying shortfalls and recommending corrective actions to Status of Resources and Training System (SORT) monitor on the status of Security Forces personnel and training in all three classified reports.
Oversees the coordination, review, and implementation of Security Forces manning authorizations and military personnel assignments.
Initiates operational and administrative actions in support of unit manning authorizations and coordinates with base training and recruiting.
Implements change to the mobility requirements and resource roster; and monitors personnel readiness.
Manages the unit-training program by overseeing the planning, organizing, directing, operating, and evaluating all unit training related items.
Implements and manages training programs, policies, and procedures, as directed by higher headquarters, commanders, and Base Training.
Develops, manages, and conducts training in support of garrison and expeditionary mission requirements.
Prepares a budget to support training requirements and submits to unit commander.
Verifies eligibility of personnel requesting schools. Identifies, analyzes, forecasts, and submits formal school quotas and workday requirements.
Develops and coordinates the implementation of the Security Forces training plan.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- Temporary appointments are subject to termination at any time.
- This position can be filled up to four years if funds are available to support it.
- In the event a permanent (Tenure 1 or 2) employee is selected, and is willing to accept the temporary appointment, that employee will relinquish permanent status.
- Must pass initial formal law enforcement training school as determined by functional (NGB/A7S).
- Must undergo initial and periodic job compatibility assessments. Must obtain and maintain current required certifications in self-aid buddy care and first-aid.
- The position is designated for drug testing.
- Incumbent must be qualified in the use of required weapons.
- Upon selection, this position will require the completion of AF Instructor Methodology Course and other approved principle of instruction course approved by functional manager.

- This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in the Missouri National Guard prior to the effective date of placement.

- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
Qualifications
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate must currently be assigned to a military unit in the Missouri Air National Guard. Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion).

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education, or training that demonstrates your ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations and procedures; possess skill in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; possess the ability to clearly enunciate English without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit effective two-way radio or telephone communication; possess the ability to write English in reports and presentation formats; possess the ability to communicate orally and in writing clearly and effectively; possess the ability to assess body language and perceive immediate risk levels; possess skill in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material.
GS-09 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 12 months of specialized experience which demonstrates your ability to serve as a subject matter expert in managing a Security Forces program to include Air Expeditionary Force (AEF) deployments, formal training programs, and emergency management; provide guidance and recommendations to the higher headquarters on aspects of Security Forces programs for military personnel management, budget and management; and analysis, training, and training resources for personnel. The specialized experience must also indicate your experience in commonly used methods, procedures, regulations and other guides that relate to training programs within the applicable Security Forces career field; skill to apply analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of program related issues and problems; develop, analyze, and evaluate security training programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security-training program for the installation; skill and competence to instruct training courses in a classroom seminar setting; and knowledge of applicable law enforcement and military security, along with Federal and DoD rules, regulations, instructions, practices, principles and procedures including force protection, integrated base defense, anti-terrorism and physical security.
