About the position: This position will be assigned to the Falcon Club, Air Force Academy, Colorado.
This position does not include benefits.
Duties
Maintains dining rooms, meeting rooms, bar, rest rooms, halls, offices, stairways, etc., in an orderly condition.
Vacuum and spot clean carpets and drapes and sweeps, mops, strips, scrubs, and waxes tile floors of rest rooms and service areas.
Dusts, waxes, and polishes furniture; dusts ledges, woodwork and picture frames; empties/cleans ash trays and removes trash; cleans fountains, glass doors and windows, partitions, mirrors, etc., using step ladders as necessary.
Maintaining rest rooms, i.e., cleans, disinfects and deodorizes lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls; replaces deodorizers, hand towels, tissues and soap.
Replaces burned out bulbs.
Reports water leaks, clogged drains, and other conditions requiring more than minor maintenance to supervisor.
Maintains custodial supplies and advises leader or supervisor when stocks run low and when equipment breaks down.
Moves tables and chairs into rooms for special functions.
Arranges these in accordance with instructions and placement chart.
Replaces pressure tanks in bar as requested or when gauge indicates that tank is empty.
Performs general but minor repair and maintenance around the Officers' Club.
This includes the repair of tables and chairs, patching of wallpaper, carpet repair, touch up painting, lamination of counter and tabletops, and a variety of minor woodworking projects.
May operate the Club pickup or van on runs to NAFFMB, commissary, bank, post office, golf course, Human Resources Office, service station, and troop issue.
Delivers cash receipts, picks up and delivers mail, and loads/off-loads kitchen supplies and other goods.
When picking up supplies, checks items against invoice for agreement and notes any damage or thawing of frozen items.
Performs tasks in the kitchen/dining room, such as clearing and cleaning tables, cleaning utensils and service equipment, grills and ovens; sweeping and mopping floors, carrying supplies, equipment and trash, and running errands.
Performs outside work as required, such as raking, policing area, sweeping walks, shoveling snow, etc.
Performs other tasks as required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have skill in the proper use of cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
Must be able to clean and make adjustments to powered cleaning equipment.
Must be able to perform the full range of cleaning duties.
Must be able to use, control, and clean common hand tools, and simple power equipment.
Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps.
Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, push and move furniture and work from stepladders.
Must maintain a valid vehicle operator's license.
Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner.
Must provide a copy of driving record.
Required to obtain Food Handler's Certificate.
May work uncommon tour of duty.
A satisfactory completion of a Tier 1 background investigation is required.
A pre-employment physical is required.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
