You will serve as a HOUSING MANAGER in the HOUSING OFFICE DIVISION of NAVAL BASE VENTURA COUNTY.

Duties

You will analyze instructions and directives from higher authorities to evaluate and implement into program policies. You will conduct regular inspections and determine the necessary repairs or improvements needed and schedule or coordinate the corrective actions. You will follow up on housing deficiencies to ensure corrective actions are taken. You will interpret applicable laws, ordinances, and codes governing the construction, leasing, location, operation, and utilization of housing projects or facilities to develop related plans, directives, and other administrative guides.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Inspecting housing facilities to identify needed facility improvements (i.e. maintenance, repairs, furnishings, etc.); 2) Coordinating repair and/or construction work with other activities to ensure work is completed on schedule; 3) Conducting housing studies (i.e. housing demand, utilization, turnover, etc.) to develop recommendations for changes or improvements; 4) Determining future housing costs to determine ensure housing operations are accomplished in accordance with the budget. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
