You will serve as a Senior Project Engineering Technician in the Project/Process Division, Engineering Department of SUPSHIP.
Duties
You will be responsible for Government oversight of all aspects of the design, construction and maintenance in connection with the planning, coordination, management and administration of all SUPSHIPNN Engineering Department technical functions.
You will advise, review, conceive of improvements, amend, approve, or reject technical work of a signature nature.
You will coordinate the review, evaluation and approval efforts for technical documents within the authority delegated by the Program Manager (e.g. ship working working plans, equipment drawings, test procedures, and technical manuals).
You will participate in efforts to streamline the work flow and design/review approval process.
You will coordinate the SUPSHIPNN Engineering Department's effort with respect to technical support of the programs/hull(s) assigned.
You will represent the Chief Engineer in technical and programmatic conferences and meetings, acting as the central point of contact for the SUPSHIPNN Engineering Department.
You will serve as the central Government technical point of contact for any assigned hull(s)/projects providing any necessary input and information regarding items assigned to the SUPSHIPNN Engineering Department for evaluation.
You will review and evaluate requests for departure from contract requirements.
You will resolve significant problems having broad impact while maintaining government technical standards.

- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing technical engineering guidance or contractor oversight to improve processes, resolve technical issues, or ensure compliance with design, certification, maintenance or construction requirements for aircraft carriers or submarines.
