THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a ITSPEC (NETWORK/CUSTSPT), Position Description Number T6326P01 and is part of the 224 ADG, National Guard.
This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants.
Duties
As an IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK/CUSTUPT), GS-2210-11, you will serve as an Information Technology (IT) specialist responsible for Sector level assistance in the operation and maintenance of the installation's Battle Control System-Fixed (BCS-F) and Command & Control (C2) system and auxiliary equipment and to provide technical assistance, training, and support to customers.
Requirements

- For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver’s license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
- For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
- The employee’s normal duty days and hours may require rotating shifts and/or days.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial vehicles and aircraft to perform temporary duty.
- The employee must obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance.
- The employee must have a current Security+ certification and may be required to obtain and maintain Linux+, CCNA Routers and Switches or other certifications I.A.W. DoD 8570 and local requirements
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
- Experience with the Linux operating system is critical to successful performance of the position.
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, and/or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Specialized experience examples, specialized experience includes experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion.
Education
