The primary purpose of this position as an Air Reserve Technician (ART), is to serve as an Intelligence Officer and Deputy Chief of the ISR Operations Section, managing and supervising daily intelligence activities including signals, imagery and electronic intelligence. Supervisory duties involve less than 25% of the position's worktime.
Duties
Air Reserve Technicians are full-time civilian employees who are also members of the Air Force Reserve unit in which they are employed. In addition to their civilian assignments, they are assigned to equivalent positions in the Reserve organization with a Reserve military rank or grade. Appointee's civilian assignments will consist of the following duties.
- Directs, manages and oversees intelligence activities required to support unit operations.
- Serves as 701st Combat Operations Squadron focal point for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems as well as actively participating in the analysis, testing and implementation of new or modified intelligence data system components and/or software to meet customer needs.
- Researches, reviews, interprets, evaluates, and integrates all-source data to produce/present all- source intelligence reports and assessments.
- Serves as focal point for Unit Type Code (UTC) management and manpower/personnel/training requests and documentation for squadron personnel assigned to the intelligence career field.
- Attends and participates in conferences, meetings and workshops as required, providing information or briefings on designated intelligence issues or topics. Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities for 1-2 subordinate personnel.

Qualifications
This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge (as would be acquired through a pertinent baccalaureate educational program or equivalent in work experience) of the principles, concepts, and methodology of the intelligence career field such that it permits independent performance of recurring assignments that are somewhat complex; a practical knowledge of a wide range of analytical principles, concepts, and practices relevant to the intelligence career field either gained relevant graduate study and/or equivalent work experience. Additionally, the incumbent uses a broad knowledge of military structure, political affairs and history regarding assigned area when analyzing intelligence data.Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Extensive knowledge of intelligence procedures, methodology, techniques and strategies including but not limited to: electronic, imagery, and signals; intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR); computer systems, architecture, and software as they apply to AFRC intelligence processes; command, control and communications protection and monitoring; intelligence data collection, validation and production procedures; and project management techniques.
2. Broad knowledge of military structure, with specific emphasis on AFRC subordinate units and command activities and functions, as well as political affairs and history regarding assigned area when analyzing intelligence data.
3. Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of real or potential security threats to or problems for program operations.
4. Ability to plan detailed and complex studies, anticipate and solve problems, and to collect, organize, and interrelate large amounts of diversely formatted data drawn from a wide variety of sources. Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with individuals and groups within the office as well as outside the immediate work unit.
5. Knowledge of and ability to develop intelligence career field training programs and conduct training and testing.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, under both normal and high stress conditions associated with emergency situations.
Conditions of Employment continued:
1. This position has been identified as a drug testing designated position. The incumbent of this position may be selected for random drug testing, and be subject to reasonable suspicion testing and safety mishap or accident testing.
2. This is an Air Reserve Technician position. The incumbent's regular assignment consists primarily of ART duties; however, member may be given non-ART tasks not to exceed 30 percent of the total responsibilities
3. IAW DoD I 3020.42, the position has been locally designated as Mission Essential (ME); needed to ensure the continued operation of mission essential functions of the activity. Mission Essential personnel may be required to report for duty at normal times when the base is closed or delayed reporting, and remain on duty during phased or early release.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
