Duties

In a developmental capacity serves as a Budget Analyst for assigned Appropriated Fund (APF) and/or Non Appropriated Fund (NAF) programs. Assists in the development of reporting requirements for the preparation, collection, justification, and submission of budgetary data. Reviews, analyzes, edits, and consolidates budget submissions for assigned activities. Monitors the execution of approved budgets, to include obligations, expenditures and/or income. Assists with the overall issuance of APF/NAF execution reports and maintaining the financial integrity of applicable databases/financial information.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.

Qualifications

1. Knowledge of basic principles and practices of budget formulations in order to prepare written funding justifications, consolidate budget requests, request additional funds, and monitor expenditures against obligations for specified programs. 2.Skill in balancing funds between accounts; i.e., transferring funds between line items or sub-projects or identifying excess funds for possible transfer to other operating programs. 3. Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with all levels of the organization/serviced organizational elements. 4. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
