Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Health Communication Specialist you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by: Maintaining an understanding of AHRQ's mission while supporting internal and external communications activities to advance agency priorities. Reviewing, editing and managing web content and other promotional materials while ensuring content is accurate and consistent with agency priorities. Serving as the technical expert to ensure appropriate, timely and impactful presentations of agency content on the website, in presentations, reports and other communications platforms. Utilizing AHRQ's Publishing and Communications Guidelines to produce relevant products and branding.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications: You must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Representing communications priorities and/or standardized processes in meetings with scientific program managers and their contractors. Editing scientific reports, online tool kits, fact sheets, slide presentations or additional materials to ensure clear presentation and proper use of language. Working with designers on initiating and editing of visual materials, such as report covers, promotional flyer's and/or infographics. Documenting experience: IN DESCRIBING YOUR EXPERIENCE, PLEASE BE CLEAR AND SPECIFIC. WE WILL NOT MAKE ASSUMPTIONS REGARDING YOUR EXPERIENCE. Qualifications are based on breadth/level of experience. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
