You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (MISSILE) in the Weapons Department of STRATEGIC WEAPONS FACILITY PACIFIC.

Duties

You will develop and implement control plans for the processing, repair and transfer of Trident II missiles and launcher support equipment. You will prepare draft and computer generated Weapons Department Weekly Production Schedules for production and waterfront operations. You will identify processing document requirements and insure that the documentation is generated and delivered to the production buildings in timely manner. You will perform planning, scheduling, and coordination to support major facility construction and modifications, proofing of developmental or special missile components and establish alternate methods to support current operations. You will schedule the movement of equipment and materials to support production and waterfront operations utilizing on-station move orders. You will develop and implement records and forms to maintain the status of production inventories and equipment required to support waterfront operations. You will schedule the delivery and return of the equipment and material and communicate directly with shop supervisors to determine the status of the work and the availability of funds to support the work.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current explosive safety certification.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to qualify for inclusion into the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).

Qualifications

For the GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience utilizing production control methods and techniques to plan, schedule and control production efforts and use of resources, and resolve obstacles (e.g., delays, scheduling conflicts, lack of sufficient materials, faulty processes, labor shortages, skilled trade imbalances) for production projects. For the GS-10: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience utilizing production control methods and techniques to schedule and control production efforts and resolve obstacles (e.g., delays, scheduling conflicts, lack of sufficient materials, faulty processes, labor shortages, skilled trade imbalances) for production projects.
