Duties

Manages the Training Aids, Devices, Simulator and Simulation (TADSS) operations of the Weapons Sergeant Course Virtual Training and Simulation Center. Responsible for developing specific course content regarding the implementation of advanced technologies. Conducts complete groupings of instruction and briefings.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Incumbent must obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
• This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station.
• This position requires CompTIA+ security certification to be obtained within 12 months of employment.
• This position requires work with Firearms and Ammunition.
• The employee may be required to work overtime.
• The employee is required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
• This is a Testing Designated Position. The employee is subject to random drug testing.
• This position requires employee to work under adverse environmental conditions.
• This position requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position.
• One-year probationary period may be required.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Directing and coordinating, training, supply, and budget requirements in training and maintaining Simulation equipment 2) Performing duties to support the synchronization and integration of a myriad of support requirements necessary to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Weapons Sergeant Course. 3) Adjusting learning experiences to meet student needs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
