About the Position: This position is with the Joint Munitions Command located at Pine Bluff Arsenal. This position serves as an Environmental Protection Specialist responsible for advising on the interpretation and implementation of local directives and federal regulations concerning spill control and oil management programs.
Duties
Develops and implements plans concerning oil management policies and strategies.
Analyzes compliance status of sources within the installation.
Determines the nature and extent of noncompliance.
Serves as an advisor to the installation on matters relating to planning, developing, and complying with spill control and oil management programs
Develops strategies to correct problems and determines need for environmental impact studies of problems.
Assists with contract negotiations and based on complexity of the contract, may serve as the Contracting Officer s Representative.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical and annual physical thereafter.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing administrative and program work relating to environmental protection programs related to spill control and oil management programs, conducting environmental inspections and recommending corrective action, and assisting with corrections of deficiencies for a wide range of environmental laws and regulations.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
