This position is located in Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, in the Administrative Division.

Duties

This National Park Service (NPS) position serves as the Property Management Technician for the Administration Division for Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area (BISO) and Obed Wild and Scenic River (OBRI). Serves as the inventory coordinator: Coordinates timely and accurate completion of property inventory's, reports of survey, etc. Provides guidance to park staff on the disposal and recycling for all excess equipment. Serves as the primary requisitioner utilizing the DOI Financial Business Management System (FBMS) for services and supplies for all three parks. Conducts physical inventories. Maintains central property and contract files for all three parks.

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement 12/16/2024 unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 for each federal position listed as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of qualifying experience that you will be granted. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected. To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-2005-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: supply management work for property utilization and inventory, electronic maintenance of property records through an automated property system data base, and the processing of property documents for acquisition or disposal of property. This experience could have been gained by managing and accounting for organizational property. You must include hours per week worked. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
