This position serves the National Trails Office for the Park Service. There is 1 vacancy in the following locations: San Francisco, California Kansas City, Missouri Santa Fe, New Mexico Salt Lake City, Utah This is a term position (more than 1 year) with an initial appointment expecting to last at least 13 months but may be extended up to a total of four years. Term positions do not convey permanent status in the Federal service.

Duties

The major duties of this position are: Plans, designs, coordinates, produces, and maintains development of printed materials, exhibits, graphics, videos, photos, websites, mobile applications, social media, webcams, audiovisual equipment, touchscreens, and digital image/video collections/catalog for internal and external use. Serves as primary lead for the digital presence of the Gateway National Recreation Area. Develops strategies and park policies for web and social media. Coordinates and leads social media team, ensures one voice in digital presence. Works as a collaborative member of the interpretation projects team on long term projects including exhibits, waysides, wayfinding, printed media, etc. Effectively engages with different audiences by using the right combination of communication methods and tools.

Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-12/20/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. To qualify for this position at the GS-11 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: interpreting resources to convey significance; connect visitors to information shared, facilitate shared learning; support learning objectives to meet education and community needs; inform the publicof important safety topics and support management of natural and cultural resources. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least 3 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree related to the occupation. Major study -- natural resource management, natural sciences, earth sciences, history, archeology, anthropology, park and recreation management, law enforcement/police science, social sciences, museum sciences, business administration, public administration, behavioral sciences, sociology, or other closely related subjects pertinent to the management and protection of natural and cultural resources. Course work in fields other than those specified may be accepted if it clearly provides applicants with the background of knowledge and skills necessary for successful job performance in the position to be filled. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. To combine education and experience, divide your number of credit hours in excess of 36 semester hours (or 54 quarter hours) by 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours), or the number your school uses to represent one year of full time graduate academic study. To calculate your percentage of experience, divide your months of qualifying specialized experience by 12. Add the two percentages. They must equal at least 100% to qualify using this option.You must include transcripts. Education

To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking.
