The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) and United States Space Force (USSF) True North (TN) Program Manager. Overseeing all aspects of program implementation to include development and execution of plans, procedures, and policies.

Duties

Serves as AFMC senior leader advisor and technical authority for TN program. Provides advice and assistance to installation True North program personnel and Wing Leaders. Provides oversight and guidance on the command's True North program activities which are responsible for the care and support of members and their families assigned to True North-supported high risk units. Analyzes resourcing requirements and identifies options for program funding. Monitors data collection tools, prepares reports, staff packages, briefing, and program summaries as required to support the True North program.

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have or within 120 days of announcement closing will have, at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience in managing all facets of program implementation, including the formulation and execution of plans, procedures, and policies and/or working knowledge of available installation and community agencies/resources, as well as relevant civilian and military laws, regulations, policies, and precedents that influence the utilization of program and related support resources in the context of installation and base resiliency; familiarity with significant issues, program goals and objectives, work processes, and administrative operations of the installation, while fostering and sustaining collaboration among various military and community resources to improve access to a variety of helping agencies and builds a network of programs and services. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1: Knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, policies and procedures to evaluate and improve programs. 2: Knowledge of available installation and community helping agencies/resources (i.e. Military & Family Readiness, Employee Assistance Program, Civilian Health Promotion Services, Sexual Assault Prevention and Response, Mental Health, Family Advocacy, Chaplain Services, etc.). 3: Ability to recognize problems, conduct research, problem solve, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations to implement solutions. 4: Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; negotiate issues; and maintain good working relationships. 5: Skill in preparing and presenting briefings and presentations for a variety of audiences and possess skill in interfacing with a wide range of personnel, including senior leadership, with tact, courtesy, diplomacy and professionalism. 6: Ability to effectively teach, lead and assist with committees, working groups and teams. IDEAL CANDIDATE: A bachelors degree or higher in behavioral, social science or a related discipline appropriate to this position is preferred. Knowledge and experience within primary prevention is highly desired. In depth knowledge of the DAF culture, military dynamics, related professional fields and a thorough knowledge of the DAF community and the unique challenges that DAF families face; or equivalent knowledge is highly desired. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
