You will serve as a TRAINING INSTRUCTOR (EOD) in the TRAINING DEPARTMENT of NAV SCHOOL EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE DISPOSAL.
Duties
You will develop aspects of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) training (e.g., course curricula, lesson plans, instructor guides) to assist in the certification of students as qualified to perform EOD activities.
You will implement Operation Risk Management (ORM) techniques to increase operational effectiveness by anticipating hazards or reducing potential loss.
You will evaluate instructor techniques, student interaction, and adherence to lesson plans to perform an instructor evaluation.
You will counsel students in the areas of performance, deportment, attitude, and participation to coordinate corrective measures.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Graduation of Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal.
- Performed work in an EOD related capacity within the previous 5 years.
- Attain and maintain Instructor and Instructor Evaluator Qualification IAW NAVSCOLEODINST 1540.1 (series)or equivalent.
- Attain and maintain High Risk Training Instructor Qualification IAW NETCINST 5100.1 (series)or equivalent.
- Attain and maintain Master Training Specialist qualification IAW NAVSCOLEODINST 1540.2 (series)or equivalent.
- Attain and maintain certification in first Aid, to include adult-level Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPA) IAW standards of the American Heart Association.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conducting training on Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) to personnel; 2) Evaluating students' progress on EOD training; 3) Developing solutions to EOD instructional issues; and 4) Identifying training resources required (e.g., facilities, instructors, supplies) to implement an EOD training program. NOTE: This experience must be supported by your resume.
