This position serves within the Office of Resource Stewardship and Science (RESS), National Capital Region, National Park Service. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Facility Manager by overseeing the maintenance, repair, project planning, administration, and operation of the Museum Resource Center.

Duties
The Facility Services Specialist carries out the following responsibilities but not limited to:
Facility Management - plans for and implements the overall operation of the facility, including specialized facility systems and equipment.
Project Management - develops project scope, goals, objectives, and deliverables for facility and maintenance projects; serves as project manager/Contracting Officer's Technical Representative.
Risk Management - conducts risk management activities; establishes safety and security protocols and oversight; responsible for emergency response.
Financial Management - maintains cost records and prepares annual work budget plans for maintenance operations.
Asset Management - maintains federal property, including fleet and other equipment.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the GS-12 grade level, you must possess at least one or all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: 1. Experience in facility management operations for the ongoing maintenance, repair, and upkeep of facilities, facility systems and equipment; 2. Experience in long-term plannning and project management for the maintenance of facility systems including HVAC systems, fire detection and suppression systems, intrusion detection systems, environmental systems, generators, and specialized storage equipment; 3. Experience in asset and financial management for accountability of assets and funds; 4. Experience in risk management, safety and security to develop and implement safety protocols, emergency response actions, security procedures, and environmental management compliance.

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 for each federal position listed as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of qualifying experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
