This position is located at US Mint,Manufacturing Directorate - Philadelphia - Facilities Management Division. As an Electrical Equipment Repairer, you will maintain, repair, overhaul, test, install, modify, and troubleshoot all electrical and electrically related equipment, machines, systems, and components, to ensure continued coin production, including new and remodeled offices and work areas.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the WG-11. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, modify, calibrate, and maintain all electrical equipment, controls, systems, and components, e.g., motors, alarms and security systems, etc. Renovate or alter circuitry when remodeling offices or work areas, to include relocating or installing power sources to machinery and equipment, repairing transformers, replacing defective wiring, and installing conduit as needed. Perform electrical work on power transmission equipment.
Make minor repairs to electronic components located on equipment and machines, and test equipment used in the Electric Shop. Troubleshoot electrical mechanical aspects of machines, check solid-state components for cracked, unconnected, or burned-out components.
Calibrate equipment with solid-state components for speed control, sensitivity adjustment for stop go action, temperature settings, etc. Make operational checks of and adjustments to equipment machinery.
Assist Mobile Industrial Truck Mechanic with removing or installing motors when electrical work is required; disassembling and assembling lift mechanisms; making adjustments and repairs; and repacking drive trains, steering mechanisms, and linkages on industrial trucks and mobile equipment. Perform piping work involving hydraulics, lubrication, and fuel systems on industrial trucks, and related equipment and installs, remove, and maintain oil and hydraulic pumps.
