Qualifications

NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements, including any requirements described in the Education section, by the closing date of this announcement. In addition to the basic entry education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below: To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year full time experience equivalent to the GS-12 defined as expert experience in the field of data analytics, ability to create dashboards and process automations and ability to manage and work with large data sets. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: Skill in applying professional knowledge of mathematics, statistics, and/or computer science. Knowledge of records management concepts, practices, policies, and procedures. Skill in Technical and analytical writing. Knowledge of project management principles, methods, and practices. Skill in using the principles, practices, and methods of the analysis of data and detailed knowledge of project elements. Knowledge of concepts, theories, designs and interactions of database systems. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, analyze, and resolve a range of problems. Knowledge of standards and requirements for competition to prepare statements of work and justifications. Knowledge of administration and post-award procedures to monitor performance, pay invoices, and advise Contracting Officer on the contractor’s performance. knowledge of assigned organization’s mission, functions, goals, objectives, and work processes sufficient to relate planning and accomplishments reporting. Skill in oral communication skills sufficient to present data and findings and to provide technical advice. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education

Data Scientist: You must have a bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited or pre-accredited college or university in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or field directly related to the position; OR a combination of education and experience with courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours), as listed.
