This position is in Region 8, Superfund and Emergency Management Division, Superfund Planning and Analysis Branch, Strategic Planning Section. About Region 8.

Qualifications

In addition to the basic entry education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below:
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year full time experience equivalent to the GS-12 defined as expert experience in the field of data analytics, ability to create dashboards and process automations and ability to manage and work with large data sets.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Skill in applying professional knowledge of mathematics, statistics, and/or computer science.
Knowledge of records management concepts, practices, policies, and procedures.
Skill in Technical and analytical writing.
Knowledge of project management principles, methods, and practices.
Skill in using the principles, practices, and methods of the analysis of data and detailed knowledge of project elements.
Knowledge of concepts, theories, designs and interactions of database systems.
Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, analyze, and resolve a range of problems.
Knowledge of standards and requirements for competition to prepare statements of work and justifications.
Knowledge of administration and post-award procedures to monitor performance, pay invoices, and advise Contracting Officer on the contractor’s performance.
knowledge of assigned organization’s mission, functions, goals, objectives, and work processes sufficient to relate planning and accomplishments reporting.
Skill in oral communication skills sufficient to present data and findings and to provide technical advice.

Education
Data Scientist: You must have a bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited or pre-accredited college or university in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or field directly related to the position; OR a combination of education and experience with courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours), as listed.
