About the Position: Serves as a General Supply Specialist at a Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) Battalion performing a variety of supply functions, situated at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina.

Duties

Administer and provide a variety of supply management type functions. Maintain a library of required supply regulations, catalogs, publications to include all organization Table of Distribution and Allowances documents. Execute supply activities involving maintenance of property book records, initiating and preparing requests, and ensuring that supply and inspection documents are properly prepared for turn-ins. Attend meetings dealing with the management and operation of property book activities. Incumbent maintains a Government Purchase Card (GPC) and purchases office supplies for the Battalion unless he/she is Property Book Officer (PBO).

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• Occasional TDY may be required.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
• This position has an occasional Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel.

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or other related fields of study. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.
