This position is located in the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), Drug-Free Communities Program Office (DFC). ONDCP is responsible for the development and implementation of the National Drug Control Strategy and Budget, coordinating across 19 federal agencies, and overseeing a $43 billion budget as part of a whole-of government approach to addressing addiction and the overdose epidemic.

Duties
As a Policy Analyst, GS-0301-14, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Plans and carries out complex data analyses, information/data gathering projects to guide development of reports and data dashboards required to strengthen and effectively monitor program performance and advise senior level leadership on actions and training needs within the Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program, Drug-Free Communities Mentoring (DFC-M) Program and the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) Local Drug Crises grant programs.
Delivers and develops communication to assists community-based youth substance use prevention coalitions apply successfully to the DFC, DFC-M and CARA programs and support the Administration's initiatives, policies, and procedures.
Coordinates and engages ONDCP and its program partners to effectively carry out the day-to-day operations for the DFC, DFC-M, and CARA Local Drug Crises grant programs.
Serves as subject matter expert on the DFC, DFC-M, and CARA Local Drug Crises grant programs, including the programs' evaluation findings, and youth substance use and community-based prevention programs for interagency task forces and work groups.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standards.
ALL QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.
You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you must meet the following minimum qualification requirements:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector that demonstrates the following:
1.Overseeing federal youth substance use prevention programs focused on community-based prevention interventions.
2.Developing resources and conducting training sessions to assist communities throughout the grant application process.
3.Fostering strategic partnerships to advance youth substance use prevention, community health, environmental prevention strategies, and/or advancing data-driven policy priorities.
4.Delivering oral presentations and trainings on youth substance use prevention to community-based organizations and underserved populations.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
