You will serve as a ELECTRONICS MECHANIC TRAINING LEADER in the Production Trades Division of FLTREADCEN EAST.
This will be Temporary NTE 2 years / Temporary actions taken under this announcement may be made permanent without further competition
Duties
You will demonstrate proper trade techniques and practices, explaining safety precautions to be followed in setting up machinery and equipment and gives instruction.
You will evaluate the progress workers, maintaining individual progress charts, furnishing input in the developing outlines, revise daily less plans, test and evaluate materials in the form of technical data.
You will use approved outlines coordinate the training of working grade employees through journey man level employees in the electronics trade and theory.
You will teach classroom trade principles as required.
You will test and troubleshoot, repairs, overhaul, modify, align, fabricate and maintain complete avionic system and subsystem.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Incumbent is subject to loan or detail into other shops to meet need.
- The position often requires irregular hours.
- This position requires exposure to high noise levels.
- Incumbent must be able to lift, carry, pull and push objects weighing from 15 - 44 lbs.
- Incumbent must be able to walk, stand, crawl, kneel, stoop, crouch, climb and operate material handling equipment.
- Must obtain certification status as a 2M Instructor. Courses to obtain and maintain a 2M Instructor qualification include but not limited to; a current 2M qualification status, Basic Instructors course and the 2M Instructors course.
- Incumbent must take courses, which may be off site and may vary from 1-5 months of coursework.
- Obtaining certification within an allotted grace period and maintaining Instructor status after achieving certification. Failure to meet these requirements could result in disciplinary action and/or removal from employment.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO INSTRUCT: A - 1) Instructing apprentices, trainees, journeymen, workers, military personnel and others in the proper use of tools, machinery, test equipment, Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), Calibration devices, support equipment and repair procedures associated with the electronics trade; 2) Developing and/or revising lesson plans; 3) Evaluating the progress of trainees; 4) Preparing periodic training progress reviews and forwards for supervisor 1 s approval; 5) Conducting training sessions designed to update, improve, and upgrade the knowledge and skills of others by selecting, modifying, and using various instructional methods and techniques; 6) Conducting formal/informal or on-the-job training with topics such as ATE, Avionics Safety, Environmental, Hazardous Materials and Items, Advanced Hands on Schematics, Drawings, Detailed Technology Instructions, Organization Process Guides, Common Air Conditioning Hardware, Consolidated Automated Support System, Functional Area Model, Hybrid Test Set, Aviation Technical Services, USM-458, Calibration, Intro to Lasers, PIN POINT/BGA/X-ray, Radar, ALFS, Equipment Pre-Operation and Preventative Maintenance, 2M/Electronic Systems Division, FLIR/IR , LM STAR, 2M, ESD, etc.
B - 1) Working knowledge of the proper use of tools, machinery, test equipment, Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), Calibration devices, support equipment and repair procedures associated with the electronics trade; 2) Developing and/or revising lesson plans; 3) Evaluating the progress of trainees; 4) Preparing periodic training progress reviews and forwards for supervisor 1 s approval; 5) Conducting training sessions designed to update, improve, and upgrade the knowledge and skills of others by selecting, modifying, and using various instructional methods and techniques. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.
C- I have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including: 1) Guiding and counseling those striving to improve their performance; 2) Developing and/or revising lesson plans; 3) Evaluating the progress of trainees; 4) Preparing periodic training progress reviews and forwards for supervisor approval. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
