National Defense University (NDU) supports the joint warfighter by providing rigorous Joint Professional Military Education to members of the U.S. Armed Forces and select others in order to develop leaders who have the ability to operate and creatively think in an unpredictable and complex world.
Duties
Maintains storerooms, location inventory, and maintenance of special event furniture. Checks stock to ensure proper items are ordered, assembled and ready prior to event.
Develops and maintains location files for stock, equipment and supplies.
Operates gasoline powered motor vehicles to transport officials to and from events or to transport materials, machinery, equipment, and tools over public roads.
Loads and unloads trucks and other conveyances. Packs, unpacks, sorts, segregates, arranges, stacks, piles, or relocates a large variety of supply items, furniture, and other property weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Performs a variety of labor tasks such as seasonal snow removal, trash collection, maintenance of grounds and campus buildings, washing and cleaning and similar tasks which typically require only the use of hand tools.

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Applicants will be rated in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
Quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties at the level for which you are applying must be demonstrated through your ability to do the work of a Laborer receiving general instruction from supervision;
Knowledge of proper storage locations and assemble items in accordance with requests;
Ability to process and independently complete inventory documents ensuring correctness of quantities, identification criteria, and labeling;
Skill in operating mechanized equipment, e.g., utility vehicles, forklift s, snow plows, lawn mowers, and telescoping lift systems.
Must possess a valid Driver's License. Applicants who don't possess a valid Driver's License will result in being screened out.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Education is not substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level.

- Qualifying education from colleges and universities in foreign countries must be evaluated in terms of equivalency to that acquired in U.S. colleges and universities. Applicants educated in whole or in part in foreign countries must submit sufficient evidence, including transcripts, to an accredited private organization for an equivalency evaluation of course work and degree. You must provide a copy of the letter containing the results of the equivalency evaluation upon request. Failure to provide such documentation when requested will result in lost consideration.
