You will serve as a Financial Technician in the Comptroller Group, Program & Business Analysis Departement of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU.
Duties
You will work in support of the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit and custody of cash items which includes handling cash items or use of cash accountability control methods.
You will examine documents for accuracy, adequacy of documentation, compliance with regulations, satisfaction or default in fulfilling contractual obligations, reimbursements for medical and domiciliary care, education, travel and transportation.
You will determine pay, payroll records maintenance and completion of reports pertaining to civilian employees of the Federal Government.
You will answer requests and provide advice to employees, supervisors, staff in other financial management series and personnel specialists on pay related rules, regulations, and procedures.
You will make collections not related to pay and leave, maintaining retirement records, or processing health benefit forms.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This is a Financial Management Level 01 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

At the GS-05 Level:
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in order to perform the duties of a Financial Technician. At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in order to perform the duties of a Financial Technician. Specialized experiences must include duties related to the following: (1) Independently performing data entry; (2) Working in a team environment; (3) Independently utilizing MS excel and MS word; and (4) Examining documents for accuracy, adequacy of documentation, and compliance with regulations.
