Duties
The following duties are performed: The selectee hired for this position cleans all areas of buildings, washes interior and exterior windows, sweeps and vacuums floors; removes trash and debris; cleans up spills and overflows; scrubs, strips, waxes and polishes floors; runs powered cleaning equipment; sweeps walkways and areas within site boundaries; receives shipments and unloads supplies; moves furniture; removes graffiti from walls of building inside and outside of buildings; sets out and removes signs; paints simple items such as picnic tables and signs; collects, picks up and empties garbage and trash within site boundaries; digs ditches and trenches; levels holes and other problems with paths and roads; rakes and waters lawns; trims trees and shrubs; operates power equipment such as leaf blowers, lawn mowers, portable snow blowers; uses and maintains common hand tools; performs moderate to heavy physical labor that may require lifting of more than 50 lbs.

Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT): I am able to perform the most difficult and complex laboring tasks, including maintaining buildings, grounds, roads, and trails; breaks up pavement, soil, or concrete; operating heavy power equipment such as lawnmowers, snow blowers and string trimmers; and safely using a variety of hand tools such as shovels, rakes, hammers, saws, rock bars, etc.; stacks heavy logs, lumber, and sacks of cement; performing custodial/janitorial work practices and the safe use of cleaning chemicals for buildings in the absence of janitor and as back-up support.
