The incumbent serves as a Legal Assistant in the Civil Aviation Registry in AFB-716.
Duties
The incumbent provides assistance with administrative and semi-technical support for Legal Instruments Examiners (Conveyances and Applications), Paralegal Specialists, Compliance Specialists, and the aviation public. Applies knowledge of civil aviation regulations, office policies and procedures, and Aircraft Registration and Airmen Certification programs. Reviews procedures, assists in studies when appropriate.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Position will be filled at the FG-6 Level only.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Successful completion of a security investigation will be required.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to FG/GS-5 grade level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically related to the position to be filled.Specialized Experience includes:Experience reviewing, preparing, and performing quality control on legal documents.Experience reviewing and processing fees/documents.Experience providing technical guidance and information to the public concerning the certification process of conveyances and other security instruments.Experience maintaining the order of legal documents.Experience using relevant information on determining whether the processes/procedures comply with laws, regulations, or established guidelines.Applicants should provide examples of specialized experience in their work history.
