As a National Bank Examiner (Asset Management), you will serve as an examiner for National Trust Banks (NTB), functioning as a Portfolio Manager supervising the most complex institutions and participating on highly specialized reviews. Chicago, IL is the primary location, but position may be filled in an alternative location- See Additional Information below.

Duties

As a National Bank Examiner (Asset Management), you will: As a supervisor will lead, motivate and develop staff. Supervise or assist in asset management examinations of community, midsize, large banks, or National Trust Banks, involving highly complex issues requiring investigation and application of highly technical analysis and judgment. Evaluate the effectiveness of asset management functions, identify systemic asset management risks and trends, and recommend changes in examination policy/procedures. Oversee the planning, coordinating, and monitoring of supervisory activities for assigned banks. Plan, organize, and control asset management supervisory activities of highly complex institutions which may include the supervision of assigned staff. Provide expert guidance and advice to Licensing on complex fiduciary activities and licensing applications and filings. Lead and participate in asset management examinations as part of the application process.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-Vband level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: Leading aset management examinations or reviews consisting of a variety of asset management products and services (e.g., wealth management, investment management, custody functions, corporate trust, retirement services/operations, internal controls, etc.) in a financial institution to identify and mitigate risks; OR Serving as an advisor or consultant to senior management on Asset Management supervisory issues, risks and/or risk mitigation in a financial institution or regulatory agency. AND You must also possess a National Bank Examiner (NBE) commission reflecting that you are authorized to sign Reports of Examinations (ROEs) for national banks and federal savings associations. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
