Duties
Serve as Chief of Operations, the leader of the Operations Community of Practice (CoP) for the SWD region within the Programs Directorate of SWD.
Exercise command and control for the Commander with regard to Operations and Maintenance and Regulatory Programs for subordinate districts.
Provide staff supervision, oversight and quality assurance of all Division Operations programs throughout 4 subordinate districts in a very large geographic area.
Manage 360+ million-dollar Operations and Maintenance General and 17 million-dollar Regulatory regional programs for the Division.
Monitor trends and changes in policy at Army and HQUSACE level for impacts on programs of the Division and apprise the Commander of potential issues/impacts.
Provide program quality assurance and advice to the Commander on regional Operations and Maintenance and Regulatory activities.
Manage a staff of approximately 6-9 individuals and supervisory program managers.
Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts both short and long-range priorities, and prepares objectives and schedules to ensure the completion of the work.
Requirements

Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Overseeing operations and maintenance programs for an organization which includes Navigation, Regulatory, Natural Resources Management, Recreation, Flood Control, Critical Project Security or Hydropower; AND 2) Conducting program evaluations to improve the administration and efficacy of operations and maintenance programs; AND 3) Providing policy direction and coordinating work with various stakeholders to accomplish organizational goals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
