Duties
You will maintain, repair, and overhaul combustion-powered automotive vehicles, over-the-road trucks, and comparable vehicles.
You will remove, replace, adjust, or clean defective parts or components such as fouled spark plugs, worn brake shoes, water pumps, engine gaskets, belts and hoses, etc.
You will replace complete assemblies by removing a damaged engine and replacing it with a new engine.
You will adjust brakes, transmission linkages, engine idle, voltage and current control valves, expansion valves and pressure regulator valves.
You will perform automotive servicing such as recovering, evacuating and recharging air conditioners.
You will perform visual inspections, auditory checks and/or tests on the ignition, fuel and electrical systems.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You are required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This position requires you to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 50 pounds in weight.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, respirators and safety shoes goggles, continuously for the duration of the work shift.
