This position is located at a Central Distribution Center (CDC). The purpose of this position is to operate vehicles and materials handling equipment in the performance of duties in a CDC.
Duties
Maintaining adequate stock of resale items.
Operating electric, diesel or gasoline powered forklifts and refrigerated truck
Performs driver maintenance checks and services vehicle with gas, oil and air
Ensuring the proper care and handling of resale grocery items
Plan itinerary to assure best utilization of time and safest route

Requirements

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license as a condition of employment. Loss of legal ability to drive on public roads is considered failure to maintain a condition of employment.
- Must be able to qualify for a forklift operator's permit.

Examples of qualifying experience:
Identifying stock turnover, shelf space allocation and customer preferences
Ensuring adequate stock and operating supplies are maintained
Rotating stock stocking containers and participating in inventories
Verifying receipts against invoices
Providing on the job training
You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Physical requirements:
. (1) Lift, push, pull, carry, and handle items weighing up to 50. (2) Frequently pushes or pulls, with the assistance of others, loaded stock carts weighing up to 2000 pounds. You will attest to your ability to perform these physical requirements in the Questionnaire.

Work environment: Most of the work is indoors or inside a vehicle. Conforms to all pertinent safety regulations and traffic laws. Incumbent is exposed to hot or cold weather and damp and drafty conditions while working in the storage area and loading docks. Required working outdoors when loading vehicle and is exposed to occasional unpleasant, dirty, and inclement weather conditions. Subject to injury and possible loss of life in case of a vehicle accident. Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, and bruises, falls from ladders and storage racks, or injury from material handling equipment and stock carts.
