You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the TRNASACTIONAL SERVICE CENTER (TSC) of San Diego.

Duties

You will assist in the management and administration of the command Security Program. You will advise management on the formulation and administration of facility security plans. You will assist with the implementation of security procedures per organizational plans. You will interpret regulations and other security guidance to ensure all assigned security programs comply with DoD and DoN regulations and directives. You will conduct investigations of security violations and prepares necessary reports. You will prepare and submit building access requests, System Authorization Access Requests (SAAR), security termination documents and other action regarding security customer service issues.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting with the maintenance (e.g., reports, procedures, investigations, monitoring, and training) of an established security program to include Information Security, Operations Security, Personnel Security, Physical Security, and Antiterrorism/Force Protection; 2) Providing customer service to the organization concerning security, personnel security clearance, access control, authorization access requests, and document control; and 3) Assisting with written and oral communications, interpreting regulations and security guidance to ensure compliance with regulations and directives; and 4) Conducting investigations of security violations and prepares necessary reports. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience. Graduate education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work:

or
superior academic achievement
