About the Position: This position is located at Fort Novosel, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Novosel is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville.

Duties

Performs a wide variety of general administrative support tasks for three to five attorneys. Maintains Youth Assistant Program (YAP) case files and status logs. Manages the database of files for Confidential Financial Disclosure Management (FDM) Reports. Maintains office files (general administrative, labor, contract, environmental, and ethics) in accordance with the Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS). Composes routine correspondence from brief notes, oral instructions, or, using independent judgment, on the basis of legal precedents. Uses Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Access processing software to prepare letters, memoranda, forms, charts, and reports. Maintains all Administrative and Civil Law databases with Judge Advocate Generals Corps Network (JAGCNET). Search historical files for precedent decisions.  Reconstructs missing files and records; updates precedent files. Prepares quarterly Installation Service Report and the Performance Management Review. Execute freedom of information act (FOIA); personally identifiable information (PII) request and assist in coordinating with Command Teams and Contractors for release of records. Assist the Client Services Division by notarizing documents as needed. Prepares litigation memo as needed for labor law.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Typing Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementClericalLegal, Government, and JurisprudenceOral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
