Salary: $103 409 - 134 435 per year

You will serve as Compliance Investigator (Course Developer/Instructor) with the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), Office of Hazardous Materials Safety, (OHMS), Field Operations, Certifications and Standards Branch. You will report to and represent the Chief, Certifications and Standards Branch in developing, managing, and providing training courses targeted to Hazardous Materials Professionals.

Qualifications

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade which you are requesting consideration.To qualify for the Grade 13, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-12, it must include: Experience developing training course materials to improve in the design of curriculum as defined. Experience developing and/or updating course modules. Experience updating training course material to maintain current training trends. Experience creating course material using multimedia materials. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Teaches Others - Helps others learn; identifies training needs; provides constructive reinforcement; coaches others on how to perform tasks; acts as a mentor. Teaching Others - Helps others learn through formal or informal methods; identifies training needs; provides constructive feedback; coaches others on how to perform tasks; acts as a mentor. Team Building - Inspires and fosters team commitment, spirit, pride, and trust. Facilitates cooperation and motivates team members to accomplish group goals. Teamwork - Encourages and facilitates cooperation, pride, trust, and group identity; fosters commitment and team spirit; works with others to achieve goals. Technical Competence - Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues. Technical Credibility - Understands and appropriately applies principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise.
