About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency AD Support Research and Engineering located in San Antonio, TX.

Duties

Compile and organize data/information to find solutions to problems, propose timely and appropriate solutions, meet programmatic goals and meet suspense dates. Use computers, information technology and their varied applications to accomplish projects, plans, and reports. Apply a variety of techniques to formulate conclusions and solve problems. Assist in the development and issuance of information. Prepare responses to telephonic or written requests for information. Compose correspondence regarding various aspects of the program. Obtain required data and information by contacting appropriate personnel and extracts and compile data using applicable formats based on method of presentation. Access, input and transmit various types of correspondence, to include charts, reports, briefings, talking papers, etc., as required. Use multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Work may occasionally require travel (5%) away from normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
  • May be required to acquire and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • The incumbent must have the ability to type a minimum of 40 WPM.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 which includes: receiving, processing and/or maintaining documents; reviewing data for accuracy and completeness; entering data in a database; and operating appropriate software to perform various computer operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to DetailCommunications and MediaComputer SkillsCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical) Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
