This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1444000 and is part of the NC ANG, National Guard (ANG - 145 AMXS / Position Number 1071617)
Duties
As an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor, WS-8801-14, you will plan the overall allocation of personnel, funding and equipment resources to the organizational segments supervised to accomplish work operations which, because of their scope, volume, complexity, operational tempo, and total force integration must be planned on a annual or longer basis; because of the Total Force Mission integration with the USAF, keeps unit assigned Air National Guard mission aircraft in combat ready status and able to be fully integrated with USAF aircraft and missions upon activation and regular contingency operations, in addition to daily training and support missions; plans work on an annual or multi year basis, to include: aircraft and aircraft system modifications (Time Change Technical Orders), maintenance equipment and facilities update and modernization, deployment and mobility planning, human resources and financial forecasting, recurring Air Force mandated inspection requirements, mission and weapons systems changes, contingency planning relating to carrying out the military mission of the wing, and the development of policies and procedures in the accomplishment of the work; coordinate and directs the work of units supervised; assigns and explains work requirements to subordinate supervisors and sets deadlines; recommend promotion or reassignment of subordinate supervisors and reviews personnel actions prepared by them; implement safety regulatory requirements; ensure that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions; prepare for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises, and Operations Other Than War (OOTW); performs other duties as assigned.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Qualifications
Military Grades: Enlisted (SMSgt/E-8 Promotable to CMSgt/E9)?
Minimum Requirements: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of equipment maintenance work, or skill in reading engineering drawings and specifications, using test instruments, making computations, and keeping records. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience in applying principles, concepts, and methods of equipment, facility, or service operations sufficient in planning assignments. Experience using well-established occupational methods and techniques to determine facility, grounds, equipment overhaul, maintenance, restoration, repair needs, etc. Experience in determination of resource needs, allocation of resources, and budgeting/funding needs. Experience in human resources management policy matters affecting the entire organization, with personnel actions affecting key employees to include experience coordinating work forces and resources and negotiating with management or clients concerning problems. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
